Welcome to

Vent d’Ouest Shipyard

Vent d’Ouest is a French shipyard specializing in the construction and restoration of wooden boats.
Firmly rooted in its local territory, the shipyard develops direct and long-term relationships with boat owners, based on proximity, knowledge transmission, and the ability to support each vessel throughout its life cycle.

Each boat is entirely handbuilt, with constant attention given to achieving a balance between maritime heritage and contemporary technologies.
Vent d’Ouest designs boats intended to navigate over time — to be maintained, repaired, and adapted — outside of standardized industrial models.

Choosing Vent d’Ouest means committing to a responsible approach to boatbuilding, grounded in technical mastery, long-term availability, and durable relationships.

NEXO 22.5

Built from wood and modern materials, it offers a contemporary interpretation of boating, combining restraint, performance, and respect for natural environments.
Its dual electric propulsion system provides smooth, silent, vibration-free navigation, allowing privileged access to coves, beaches, and protected marine areas.

Designed for practical and long-term use, the NEXO 22.5 places particular emphasis on:

A boat of its time

The Full Electric CraftShip NEXO 22.5 is firmly rooted in its time, integrating modern technology in service of a responsible approach to boating. Its electric propulsion system provides true day-long autonomy while significantly reducing the impacts associated with daily operation, including emissions, noise, and vibrations. This technological choice enables a more respectful relationship with the marine environment, improves access to sensitive areas, and greatly enhances onboard comfort. The NEXO 22.5 delivers quiet, reliable, and efficient performance, aligned with today’s environmental challenges, without compromising usability or pleasure on the water.

A durable, human-scale new build by french carpenter

« Vent d’Ouest » brand is built on a sustainable vision of boatbuilding, led by a French, human-scale shipyard. Vent d’Ouest prioritizes direct, trust-based relationships with boat owners, grounded in transparency, dialogue, and long-term commitment. Each boat is designed to endure — to be maintained, repaired, and adapted over time — outside of standardized production models. This close connection between builder and owner ensures technical consistency, long-term support, and lasting value well beyond the initial delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a permit to use the open tender?

Indeed, insofar as the installed power on board is 40 kW / 55 HP, a coastal license (or "inland waters") is necessary for its use.

What is the autonomy when sailing?

The hydrodynamic calculations carried out predict about 1 hour of autonomy at 15 knots - 28 km/h (maximum speed), and 6 to 4 hours of navigation at 10-12 knots (depending on loading and navigation conditions). Future tests on the prototype will allow us to refine and validate this data. However, we are constantly on the lookout for the rapid progress of engine and battery manufacturers. We are confident in our ability to integrate the latest generations of components in order to improve the performance of our units

How do you recharge the dayboat batteries?

The batteries will be recharged on a conventional 32 A terminal, by 3chargers installed in the boat or 1 single charger if the port is equipped with a 16 A terminal. If we had to meet a fast charging imperative (idemautomobile), we could equip our units with a high-voltage propulsion system (400V), rechargeable by a high-power AquaSuperPower terminal
